  14. San Francisco,  June 20, 1994 P Stone Design began shipping a new
  15. front-end module for DataPhile which allows you to import fixed
  16. length data with no field delimiters into DataPhile.
  17.  
  18. Data from mainframe systems oftens times comes as "packed" ascii
  19. data where each field size is known in advance, and can be decoded
  20. based on a data map. DP_Importer lets you create, save and open
  21. these data maps.

  23. It features a "foolproof" 1-2-3 interface modeled after Simple
  24. Network Starter: you drag in your data, you drag in your data map
  25. (or create one on the fly), and you either tell DataPhile to create
  26. a new database or add these records to an existing database.

  28. It is an excellent tool for "data-dipping" - retrieving records
  29. from large corporate databases, and then manipulating the data with
  30. the power and ease of DataPhile.

  33. media/handling charge for DataPhile customers.
